Tamy came to Night Market via the New York/New Jersey area where she first discovered and cultivated her love of the hospitality industry. "While all my other friends were working boring gigs in retail, I always found myself working in hospitality because I liked being in the thick of things, helping people enjoy and celebrate life on a daily basis.”
She started her hospitality journey scooping ice cream at Torico's in Downtown Jersey City, moving onto managing a cafe in Hoboken, working as a Gallery Host in Secaucus with Hyatt, then heading down south to become assistant restaurant manager at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Orlando.
After nearly two years at the resort, Tamy found herself back in the Big Apple at the Grand Hyatt New York, where she spent three years as Outlets Manager and Banquet Manager. She then moved on to open The Kitchen at Grove Kitchen in Jersey City as General Manager with Executive Chef David Viana, then managed the Rooftop Bar at the Harvard Club NYC before shipping up to Boston.
Tamy joined the Night Market team in Spring of 2016 and prides herself on being a professional feeder, peacemaker, and tension tamer - all things that she attributes not only to her experience as a food and beverage manager and banquet manager at Hyatt hotels, but also to growing up in a big, loving, chaotic Filipino family. Diffusing Chef Jason and telling the team bad jokes during service are just a few of her daily duties here at Night Market, performing these tasks and a myriad of others with a smile on her face and a shamama song in her heart. While she's not running the show at Night Market, she can be found doing late night baking in her kitchen, sending ridiculous puppy videos to her siblings, and playing video games and plotting world domination with her loving husband. then
